After the experience of releasing his first solo project called Extravaganza, Ricardo Alvarez was prepared to go beyond and continue creating new concepts and sounds. This brings a fresh air with the new Caribbean Chillout Project (CCP).
Alvarez joined Cuban musician/composer Leandro Saint-Hill to form a basic cell into the CCP. Saint-Hill is considered a heavy-weight in the European Latin jazz scene, playing tenor, alto and soprano saxes as well as a flute and singer. So, they found together the perfect mix to this project. The vocal function is generally not as a soloist, rather as a trademark sound color throughout the live show. The music contains a touch of rock in the rhythms, mixed with African and electronic percussion, using sounds from European electronic genres and flavored with some jazz harmonies.
The CCP is at the moment one of the trendy live projects in Europe, offering a very fresh sound mixture with a wide repertoire for a general audience where a relaxed atmosphere is needed. Additional musicians can take part of the show, eventually a percussionist and a guitarist. A three-song demo recording is already released for promotional use.
